November 10, 2008 > Aim Low and There’s a Good Chance of Exceeding Your Expectations
EP is proud to claim “Victory” in their first 5K race attempt on October 4th, 2008. Newly established, EP’s Team LAMA (a very properly given acronym for Loose Association of Mediocre Athletes based on their low expectations for the outcome) officially registered for the Twin Cities 5K Corporate Challenge earlier this summer and began their training as a team of 8. In true Cinderella Story tradition, Team Lama put forth an outstanding and [engineous*] performance, placing 4th out of the 24 teams in the challenge. The small team of unknowns from a little engineering firm in suburban Minnetonka, MN went up against seasoned runners from corporate giants such as Target, Health Partners, Blue Cross Blue Shield, BMW, 3M and Medtronics. Despite losing the fierce battle for the bronze medal, EP considers their 4th place finish an underdog victory and will be celebrated as such.
Team LAMA intends to slack off a little over the winter season, but will be back strong in 2009 with, hopefully, a few more mediocre athletes added to the team roster. Predicting another victory in 2009 would be out of character for them, so they prefer to just leave it at, “We’ll do our best.”
October 17, 2008 > An Amazing Success
We’d like to start off by thanking all who attended our open house on September 12th for the amazing success. Our goal was to get together with our co-workers, clients, and families and loosen our ties and laugh. By that measure, it was an overwhelming success. Just as in our daily projects at Emanuelson-Podas, teamwork is the key to success and we’d like to thank all of those involved in the organization of this get-together for your hard work and dedication for making this such a success, dare we say an [engineous*] success?
We celebrated the last fifty years and rang in the next with a good old-fashioned picnic-style spread that was overlooked by an enormous caterpillar bounce house enjoyed “mostly” by the children in attendance. With video games, basketball and hockey, guitar hero and our soon-to-be famous face painter, there was no shortage of fun to be found. It was a chance for our clients to meet more of the team behind the scene and in attendance was Robert Emanuelson, whose name may sound familiar as a part of our founding body.
Every day deserves a soundtrack and for that we would like to thank Bojono who was a tremendous success in keeping the mood alive and happy.
Of course without our clients and the relationships that we have built we could not have achieved the success that we have and again would like to reach our hand out and say thank you and let you know that this will definitely be an event that we will plan annually in order to keep our strong connection. You can all rest assured that you will receive the invitation again in years to come.
See you next year!

September 02, 2008 > Broadening our engineous*
We’ve recently added depth to our vision of the future and added Mechanical Engineer Travis Zipf and Electrical Engineer Damon Chmela to our team.
The addition of these two PEs will add the municipal/industrial market to EP’s electrical and mechanical engineering consulting services and broaden our service base even further. “We are especially thrilled to announce the hiring of Damon and Travis, who both have outstanding reputations in this field, to lead us in this effort,” announces Scott Vander Heiden Vice President of Emanuelson Podas, and adds, “We look forward to extending the same level of design quality, commitment to service and personable approach to this new market sector that our clients have come to expect.”
“My goal in this effort is to build lasting, long-term relationships with municipal/industrial clients,” says Damon. Travis adds, “I am looking forward to bringing my experience in the municipal/industrial market to a firm with an outstanding reputation for doing great work.”
The two engineers were chosen specifically to lead us into this new realm and we are truly excited to see the changes to come for the future. This new venture into the municipal/industrial market sector will serve as an enormous step forward in our ever-growing quest to provide an outstanding and thorough list of services. Our diverse range of capabilities is backed by incredible knowledge, thorough dedication, and a great deal of experience.
Welcome to our team Travis and Damon!
